Loosen the parking brake cable tensioner nut (see subsection 3.37).
Remove the wheel.
As the pads wear out periodically bring them to the drum.
Remove the rubber plug from the hole in the drum.
Periodically turning the drum, turn the adjusting nut of the spacer bar with a screwdriver until the shoes come into contact with the brake drum (the left wheel is shown, the right wheel nut must be turned in the other direction).
Turn the adjusting nut in the opposite direction until the shoes stop touching the drum. This ensures the minimum clearance between the pads and the drum (the left wheel is shown, the right wheel nut must be turned in the other direction).
Install the rubber plug and adjust the parking brake cables (see subsection 3.37).
To check the correctness of the adjustment, it is necessary to drive a car for 3-4 km without using the brakes. After stopping, make sure (to the touch), that the drums do not heat up. If the drums become very hot, repeat the adjustment.
