The drive shaft 57 of the gearbox has two gear rims. Gear (crown) 53 with oblique teeth is in constant engagement with the gear 48 of the intermediate shaft, and the ring 8 with straight teeth is the crown of the IV gear synchronizer. The intermediate shaft 47 is a block of gears mounted on two bearings 50 and 40. The driven shaft 16 is mounted on three bearings, and the front bearing 6 is located in the socket of the input shaft. Gears 14 and 15 rotate on heat-treated necks of the driven shaft, and gears on a steel sleeve 18.
The synchronizer consists of a sliding sleeve 9 (42), the hub 10, the synchronizer blocking ring, rigidly connected to the driven shaft, has external splines on which the sliding clutch 9 is located. The blocking ring is connected with its inner crown to the synchronizer ring of the gear 14 of the third gear and is constantly pressed by the spring towards the sliding clutch.
The reverse intermediate gear 58 is freely located on the axle 60. When the reverse gear is engaged, the gear 58 engages with the gears 39 and 21.
Gear shifting is carried out using a mechanical drive, consisting of three rod-sliders 72, on which forks are fixed, which are included in the recesses of the sliding clutches 9 and 42 of the synchronizers, and the fork 59, which is included in the recess of the intermediate gear 58 of the reverse gear. In the neutral and engaged position, the rods are held by ball detents, and the simultaneous engagement of two gears is prevented by a lock.
The gear lever with its head is placed in the ball joint 67 and is pressed against it by the spring 64. The lever is prevented from turning by the guide pin, which enters the hole of the ball head of the lever and the support 67.
The dimensions of the main mating parts and the limits of permissible wear are indicated in table 8.
