Remove the brake drum using puller 67.7823.9519 (Fig. 6-18). Disconnect it from lever 18 (fig. 6-17) manual drive of the shoes end of the cable, remove the cotter pin, press on the finger 21 and remove the lever. Disconnect the upper 2 and lower 7 tension springs with pliers.
Turn the cups of the support struts 17 and remove them together with the struts, springs and lower cups; remove pads 8 and 16 and spacer bar 20. Disconnect the pipe from wheel cylinder 1 and plug the inlet holes of the cylinder and pipe. Remove the wheel cylinder. When replacing brake shield 4, remove the axle shaft as described in Chapter "Rear axle", and disconnect the rear cable 13 by unscrewing the two bolts securing it to the brake shield 4.
