Knocking in the driveshaft when starting off, during sharp acceleration or gear shifting

| 1. Loosening the bolts and nuts securing the elastic coupling and cardan joint flanges. | 1. Tighten the nuts to the torques specified in the appendix. |
| 2. Increased circumferential clearance in the splined connection of the front or rear cardan shafts. | 2. Check the clearance size on the average diameter of the splines; if it is more than 0.30 mm, replace the worn parts. |

Noise and vibration of the driveline

| 1. Deformation of the front or rear cardan shafts. | 1. Straighten the shafts on a press or replace them. |
| 2. Imbalance of cardan shafts. | 2. Check and balance the shafts (see "Balancing of shafts"). |
| 3. Wear or damage to the centering sleeve of the intermediate cardan shaft flexible coupling flange. | 3. Replace the coupling flange bushing. |
| 4. Wear of cardan joints. | 4. Repair the hinges by replacing worn parts. |
| 5. Loosening of the seal collar of the splined connection of the front or rear cardan shafts. | 5. Press the oil seal and crimp its collar; if grease leaks, replace the oil seal. |
| 6. Insufficient lubrication of splined connections. | 6. Lubricate the splined joints with Fiol-1 or Fiol-2U grease through grease nipples. |
Grease leak
| Cause of malfunction | Method of elimination |
| 1. Loosening of the seal collar of the splined connection of the front or rear cardan shafts. | 1. Press the oil seal and crimp the collar, replace the worn oil seal. |
| 2. Damage to the protective cover of the constant velocity joint of the intermediate shaft. | 2. Disassemble the joint, replace the grease and protective cover. If the parts are damaged, replace the joint as a whole. |
