Balancing of cardan shafts (VAZ-21213)

The front and rear cardan shafts are balanced on special machines and are balanced by welding metal plates.

At a rotation speed of 5500 min⁻¹, the shaft imbalance, controlled on surfaces A and B (Fig. 3-53), should not exceed 1.72 N·mm (175 gf mm), and when checking the balancing - 2.16 N·mm (220 gf mm).



The balancing of the intermediate cardan shaft is checked at a rotation speed of 800 min⁻¹ on surfaces E and F. Balancing is ensured by balancing washers 1 (Fig. 3-53) and drilling the joint housing. The imbalance should not exceed 1.96 N·mm (200 gf mm).
