Before proceeding with the replacement of the oil seal, install the car on a lift and remove the gearbox (see sect. «Transmission»). Unscrew the bolts securing the clutch cover to the flywheel and remove the cover assembly with the pressure plate. This releases the clutch disc.
Block the flywheel with a latch 67.7820.9534 (see fig. 35), unscrew the flywheel mounting bolts and remove it. Remove the old crankshaft rear oil seal from the holder. Lubricate the new oil seal with engine oil and use a conical mandrel 41.7853.40P (pic. 23) put it on the crankshaft flange. Mandrel 67.7853. 9581 (pic. 24) press the seal into the holder. Protrusion of the stuffing box relative to the outer surface B (see fig. 37) holder is not allowed, and the sinking of the stuffing box relative to the same surface should be no more than 0.25 mm.
Install the flywheel (by dowel pin) in the same position as it was on the engine, i.e. so that the mark (hole) near the flywheel rim was against the axes of the connecting rod journals. Having blocked with a latch 67.7820. 9534 flywheel, fix it with bolts, installing a washer under them.
The clutch is installed and fixed on the flywheel by placing the driven disk with the protruding part of the hub towards the pressure disk and centering it relative to the flywheel with the mandrel 67.7853.9597 (see fig. 76). Installing the gearbox (see sect. «Transmission»).
