Removal and installation front wheel brakes (VAZ-2101)

Before repairing the brake mechanisms, they are thoroughly washed with warm water and detergent and dried with a stream of compressed air. The use of gasoline, diesel fuel, trichlorethylene and any other mineral solvents when cleaning the brakes is unacceptable, as they damage the cylinder seals.

Raise the front of the car, place it on stands and remove the wheel. Unscrew the nipple, disconnect the flexible hose from the line, plug the holes in the hose and steel tube to prevent leakage of brake fluid. After removing cotter pins 14 (see fig. 143), and then fingers 8 with springs 10 (see fig. 144), remove springs 15 (see fig. 143) and brake pads 16. The pads are marked so that they can be installed in their original place during assembly. Having bent the locking plates, unscrew the two bolts 9 with which the caliper is attached to the bracket, and remove the caliper.

It is possible to change the brake mechanism (without brake disc) assembled with brake pads, for which the hose is disconnected and the bolts 9 securing the caliper are unscrewed.

Installation is performed in the reverse order. After this, having restored the fluid level in the tank, the brake drive is bled.
