Before proceeding with the replacement of the oil seal, brake the car with the parking brake and set the gear lever to the neutral position. Remove the front toothed belt cover.
Turn the crankshaft clockwise until the alignment marks on the pulley and the rear protective cover of the toothed belt match. Loosen the tensioner axle nut and turn it to loosen the belt. Remove the belt from the camshaft pulley.
Holding the camshaft pulley from turning with fixture 67.7811.9509, unscrew its fastening bolt and remove the pulley with the key. The old oil seal is removed from the socket and a new oil seal is pressed in with a mandrel 67.7853.9580, having previously been lubricated with engine oil.
Install the camshaft pulley and, blocking it from turning, fix it with a bolt and washer. Put the belt on the camshaft pulley and slightly tighten it with the tension roller, turning the roller axis counterclockwise.
Turn the crankshaft two turns in the direction of rotation and check that the timing marks on the camshaft pulley match (see fig. 6) and flywheel (see fig. 52).
If the marks do not match, then repeat the installation of the belt by adjusting the position of the camshaft pulley. If the marks match, then adjust the belt tension, as indicated in Sec. «Engine settings», and install the front toothed belt guard.
Check and, if necessary, adjust the ignition setting.
