Acceleration dynamics of the car (VAZ-2110)

            0

Once you start moving, you should try to shift to a higher gear, if possible, in a shorter period of time. When changing gears while moving, the clutch pedal should be released faster than when starting off, and the crankshaft speed should be increased in time by pressing the gas pedal. If you delay pressing the gas pedal, the car will move in jerks. When releasing the clutch pedal, the jerk will be backwards, and when pressing the gas pedal, the jerk will be forwards. Do not accelerate too long or abruptly in first gear - this is harmful to the engine and strong traction can lead to wheel slippage. Acceleration of the car to a speed that allows moving in top gear is performed by successively applying gears in ascending order and adhering to the following order of acceleration while moving:
  • in first gear, press the gas pedal and, listening to the engine, if there is a tachometer, monitor the increase in the number of revolutions of the crankshaft, and on the speedometer - an increase in speed to 15-20 km / h;
  • move your right hand to the gear lever;
  • with your left foot, press the clutch pedal sharply all the way down and smoothly release the gas pedal, without removing your foot from the gas pedal;
  • with a sharp but light press, move the gear shift lever to neutral, press it slightly to the left and with a light and sharp movement move the lever to second gear;
  • with your left foot faster than before, but do not release the clutch pedal abruptly while gradually pressing the gas pedal with your right foot;
  • when driving in second gear, press the gas pedal and listen to the noise of the engine, it increases; if there is a tachometer, then monitor the growth of crankshaft speed using the speedometer - an increase in speed to 30-35 km/h;
  • sharply press the clutch pedal all the way down and at the same time smoothly release the accelerator pedal, do not remove your foot from the accelerator pedal;
  • with a sharp but light press, move the gearshift lever to neutral, lightly press the lever to the right, with a sharp but light movement, move the lever to third gear;
  • faster than before, but not abruptly, release the clutch pedal while simultaneously pressing the gas pedal.

When changing gears, you need to pay close attention to the road; do not change gears hastily, but always shift into neutral with a light movement, and then into the desired gear, but do not linger in neutral; do not keep your foot on the clutch pedal for a long time; keep your right hand on the gear shift lever only when changing gears, it is needed on the steering wheel.

Attention. The stroke of the rod in the "ten" is longer than in other cars, so gear shifting is slower, sportsmen do not like this. Firstly, it seems so at first, you just need to get used to it, or rather, just learn to shift quickly, and that's it. And secondly, the "ten" was made for choleric people, there are more of them, since they think first and then act. But for sanguine people, tuning companies shorten the stroke of the rod.

the "ten" with a 1.5-liter engine is on par in terms of dynamics with the "six", which has a larger volume, and with the 2112 engine it also has better acceleration dynamics. And why? At the beginning of this section, we talked about the forces that create resistance to the movement of the car, and then looked at overcoming the friction forces when starting off. The "ten" has less air resistance to overcome, and the "six" has more. Thanks to the reduction in aerodynamics, the released force immediately goes to faster acceleration or to easier overcoming of an incline without changing gears.

the "ten" has become more dynamic than its predecessors, this contributes to active safety, but requires precise calculation if sanguine people want to drive fast, overtake riskily, brake sharply. The cost of mistakes increases, and therefore the professional training of the "ten" driver must increase.
