Note: On engine 21124, the intake manifold is made as a single unit with the receiver and is made of plastic.
1. Prepare the car for work (see "Preparing the car for maintenance and repair").
2. Remove the throttle assembly from the intake manifold without disconnecting the hoses from it (see "Throttle assembly - removal, gasket replacement and installation").
3. Disconnect the throttle cable from the intake manifold (see "Throttle - Drive Cable Replacement").
4. Disconnect the wiring harness connectors from the ignition coils (see "Ignition coils of engine 21124 (1.6i 16v) - checking and replacement").
5. Disconnect the wiring harness connector from the crankshaft position sensor (see "Crankshaft Position Sensor - Checking and Replacing").
6. Disconnect the wiring harness connector from the camshaft position sensor (see "Camshaft Position Sensor - Checking and Replacing").
7. Disconnect the wiring harness connector from the purge valve of the adsorber (see "Evaporative Canister Purge Valve - Checking and Replacing").

8. Remove the wiring harness from the intake manifold and move it to the side.
9. After loosening the clamp, remove the brake booster hose from the intake manifold.

10. Key by 8 mm loosen the clamp securing the engine crankcase ventilation hose.

11. Remove the hose from the cylinder head cover pipe.

12. Using a Phillips screwdriver, unscrew the screw (1) securing the oil level indicator guide tube.

13. Remove the guide tube together with the oil level indicator from the engine cylinder block and remove it.

14. Key by 10 mm we unscrew the two nuts (1) securing the intake manifold to the cylinder head cover and the three bolts (2) securing the ignition coils of the first, second and third cylinders.

15. Remove the ignition coils of the first, second and third cylinders (see "Ignition coils of engine 21124 (1.6i 16v) - checking and replacement").
16. With a socket wrench by 13 mm unscrew the three nuts (2) and two bolts (1) securing the intake manifold to the side surface of the engine cylinder head.

17. Moving forward, remove the intake manifold from the engine.

18. Remove damaged sealing rings from the intake manifold.

19. Install new sealing rings and assemble in reverse order.
