- thoroughly clean the working surface of the liners and the connecting rod journal and install the connecting rod-piston group on the crankshaft journal according to the numbering;
- place a piece of gauge wire on the surface of the crankpin, install the cap and connecting rod, and tighten the nuts to 50.96 Nm (5.2 kgf·m);
- remove the lid and, according to the scale printed on the package, by the flattening of the wire (pic. 2-29) determine the size of the gap.
If the clearance is within tolerance (0.036-0.086 mm) or not more than the wear limit (0.10 mm) You can install these liners without changing the diameter of the crankpins.
With a gap greater than the wear limit (0.10 mm) replace bushings with repair ones (tab. 2-1) and grind the connecting rod journals, according to the data on the repair dimensions of the crankshaft given in chapter «Crankshaft and flywheel».
Numbers 0 25; 0.50 etc. indicate the amount of reduction in the diameter of the crankshaft journals after grinding.
