Before dismantling, the pipeline with the brake system tee is removed from the bridge beam, the bridge is installed on the repair stand and the oil is drained from the crankcase.
Having removed the brake drum and unscrewed the nuts securing the shield 1 (see fig. 79) brake, puller 67.7801.9516 (pic. 80) take out the half shaft assembly with the oil deflector, the half shaft bearing mounting plate, the bearing and the locking ring. Then remove the brake shield and the sealing ring. If replacement is necessary, the seal is removed from the bridge beam flange.
Then the same operations are performed at the other end of the beam, after which the gearbox is removed.
The assembly of the rear axle is carried out in the reverse order of disassembly. At the same time, the axle shaft bearing oil seal is coated with Litol-24 grease before installation, and the threads of the gearbox mounting bolts are coated with sealant, having previously degreased them and the threaded holes in the rear axle beam. When installing the axle shaft seal in the beam flange, use A.70157 mandrel, the punch of which has a diameter of 44 mm, and the diameter of the seat belt for the seal is 29.4 mm. Lubricate with graphite grease or LSTs-15 grease the landing belt of the axle shaft flange under the brake drum and the surface of the axle shaft flange in contact with the drum in order to facilitate the removal of the drum during subsequent disassembly. Brake drums are installed after installing the rear axle on the car and fixing the cable ends on the levers of the parking brake drive.
