Before connecting the wheel drives to the axle gears, make sure that the retaining rings 13 (see figure 76) on the inner joints are replaced with new ones. This is very important, since when installing old rings, spontaneous disconnection of the wheel drives and axle gears is possible when the car is moving.
Before installing the gearbox, apply a thin layer of LSC-15 grease to the splined end of the primary shaft and SHRUS-4 grease to the outer surface of the guide sleeve of the clutch release bearing. Then center the driven clutch disc with the A.70081 mandrel (see figure 60).
After installing the gearbox, adjust the free travel of the clutch release fork lever (see section. "Clutch") and the gearshift control drive in the following order:
- acting from underneath the vehicle, with the clamping bolt 8 (see figure 62) rods 9 set rod 6 to neutral position;
- with the decorative cover raised, install lever 11 so that its lower part is perpendicular to the body floor, and the lever handle is located from the right seat at a distance equal to 1/3 of the distance between the seats. In this position, tighten the nut of the clamping bolt 8. When installing the lever, use device 854.7821.4413. If this device is not available, the lever is held in the specified position manually. After installation, pour engine oil into the gearbox.
