A carburetor is a device for precise dosing of fuel in an air stream, formation of a combustible mixture from fuel and air and regulation of its supply to the engine cylinders depending on its operating mode.
On the VAZ-2110 and VAZ-2111 engines, electronic carburetors of the brand 21083-31 or 21083-62 were installed; these are ordinary VAZ carburetors for front-wheel drive cars. They are produced by us on the basis of a license from a French company «SOLEX». They differ from 21083 in a semi-automatic starting device, idle solenoid valves and the main dosing system. They are controlled by the onboard computer.
In European countries, and in other countries of the world, stringent measures are being introduced to protect nature, human health from harmful impurities that a car emits. Since 2000, tougher Euro-3 standards have already been introduced in Europe. And the most stringent rules are introduced in the US and Canada.
The engines of a car equipped with a carburetor do not even fit into the Euro-1 framework. To do this, carburetors are equipped with electronic control. But they only meet Euro-1 requirements. At the same time, technical characteristics, and this means operational ones, have decreased somewhat. But most importantly, after a certain mileage, the initial norms are reduced. And the requirements of the Euro-3 rules: even after 80,000 kilometers, the engine must comply with the original standards, without appropriate adjustments. Consequently, carburetor engines are yesterday, although in terms of performance, a car with a well-tuned carburetor engine is almost as good as injection cars.
«Dozens» with carburetor engines are no longer available. As can be seen from the table of cars produced by the automobile plant, production «dozen» with a carburetor engine has been declining every year. The carburetor power system is being replaced by a system with distribution injection, and not only on «dozens».
