Note. The work on checking and replacing injectors is shown on VAZ 2110 cars with an injection engine 21124 (1.6i). The features of checking and replacing injectors of the 2112 engine (1.5i) are indicated in the text.
Warning: Before performing repair work to replace injectors, read the precautions for repairing the engine management system (see "Precautions when repairing the engine management system").
To perform an injector check you will need:
- multimeter (in voltmeter and ohmmeter mode);
- wire (1.5-2 m);
- insulating tape.
Examination
1. Preparing the vehicle for work (see point 2b "Preparing a car for maintenance and repair"), turn off the ignition.
2. Remove the decorative engine cover (see "Engine trim - removal and installation").
3. Disconnect the connectors (1 and 2) of the injector wiring harness.

4. After turning on the ignition, use a voltmeter to measure the voltage at the power terminal E of the connector (1) of the wiring harness, which should be no less than 12 V (the terminals are marked with letters on the connector, the "minus" probe of the device should be connected to the engine "ground").
Warning: Turn off the ignition after completing the voltage measurement.
Note: If there is no voltage at the connector or it is less than 12 V, then the battery is discharged, the power supply circuit is faulty, or the ECU is faulty.
5. Check the electrical resistance of the injectors, for which we use an ohmmeter to measure the resistance between terminal E and the other four terminals of the connector (2). The terminal of the connector marked with the letter B corresponds to the injector of the first cylinder, and terminals C, G and F correspond to the injectors of the second, third and fourth cylinders. The resistance of serviceable injectors should be -13 Ohms.
6. Using two wires directly from the battery, apply 12 V to the terminals of the connectors (2) - terminal E is connected to the positive terminal of the battery, and terminals B, C, G and F are connected in series with the negative terminal of the battery. If the injector is working properly, a characteristic click should be heard when the valve opens.
7. Defective injectors must be replaced.
Removal
8. Removing the injector on a car with a VAZ 2112 (l,5i) engine.
a) Remove the fuel rail (see "Fuel rail engine 2112 (1.5i) - removal, disassembly, assembly and installation").
b) Remove the injector (see items 14, 16-18, "Fuel rail engine 2112 (1.5i) - removal, disassembly, assembly and installation").
Removal the injector on a car with a VAZ 21124 (l,6i) engine.
a) Remove the intake module (see "Engine intake module 21124 (1.6i) - removal, installation, replacement").
b) Disconnect the wiring harness connectors from the injectors (the photo shows a view from the radiator side).

c) Remove the fuel rail assembly with injectors (see "Fuel rail engine 2112 (1.5i) - removal, disassembly, assembly and installation").
d) Remove the injector retainer from the fuel rail.

d) Remove the injector from the ramp.

e) We remove the three remaining injectors in the same way.
Installation
We install the injectors and all removed parts on the car in the reverse order of removal.
