Main system components: 1 – intake pipe; 2 – additional first stage muffler (resonator); 3 – main muffler; 4 – exhaust pipe
Check the exhaust system periodically. If the noise level from the exhaust system is increased, check its tightness. If necessary, replace rusted and burnt-out components.
Caution! Before repairing the exhaust system, allow it to cool down, as it reaches high temperatures during engine operation.
Warning! Exhaust gases are toxic and poisoning occurs unnoticed, so be sure to open the garage door before starting the engine!
If it is impossible to replace the defective unit with a new one, you can temporarily restore its functionality by applying a metal patch to the damaged area and securing it with clamps or wire. It is recommended to put a sheet of asbestos under the patch.

1. Start the engine and inspect the entire system. Run your hand near the possible leaks without touching the components. You will immediately feel the gas leak.

2. Inspect the rubber mounting pads of the main muffler (the second cushion on the other side of the muffler) and...

3....exhaust pipe hangers. Replace torn, cracked or loose cushions.

4. Inspect and replace damaged clamps if necessary.

5. In the engine compartment, check for possible gas leaks between the intake pipe and the cylinder head (the second branch of the intake pipe is located on the other side of the engine intake pipe).
