Examination
1. We prepare the car for work (see "Preparing the car for maintenance and repair"), turn off the ignition.
2. Remove the engine trim (see "Decorative overlay of the engine - removal and installation").
3. Disconnect the tips of the high-voltage wires from the ignition module (see "High voltage motor wires 2112 (1,5i 16v) - check and replacement").
4. Releasing the latch (1), disconnect the block of wires from the ignition module.
5. Turning on the ignition, use a multimeter in voltmeter mode to measure the voltage between terminals C and D of the wiring harness block.
Comment. The voltage must be at least 12 V. If the voltage is not supplied to the block or it is less than 12 V, then the battery is discharged, the power circuit is faulty or the computer is faulty.
You can verify that the ignition module is faulty by replacing it with a known good one.
Removing
6. With the ignition off, socket wrench by 10 mm with a deep head, unscrew the three nuts securing the ignition module.
7. Remove the module from the studs.
Installation
Install the ignition module in reverse order.
We connect high-voltage wires to the module in accordance with the cylinder numbers printed on each wire and on the module case next to the terminals.
