Assembling the starter (VAZ-21213)

The starter is assembled in the reverse order of disassembly. Before assembly, lubricate the screw splines of the anchor shaft and the overrunning clutch hub, the gear and the cover bushings with engine oil. Lubricate the drive ring with Litol-24 consistent grease.

Place an insulating plastic tube on the tie bolt that passes under the stator series coil busbar.

By selecting the thickness of the adjusting washer 10 (fig. 7-16) ensure the axial free play of the anchor is no more than 0.5 mm. After assembly, check the starter on the stand.
