- heated room (individual garage) with a temperature of at least 5°C and a relative humidity of 50-70%, equipped with supply and exhaust ventilation.
If the room is heated (individual garage) has ineffective supply and exhaust ventilation, and the car is used in winter or is stored after washing without preliminary drying, then the destructive effects on protective and decorative coatings increase many times over.
When storing your vehicle in a shelter or unheated area during the winter, remove the battery and radio and store them separately; drain the fluid from the windshield washer reservoirs.
When storing the car in a room where sunlight penetrates, cover the body and tires with a cover made of moisture-permeable material. The use of covers made of moisture-proof materials (tarpaulin, film, etc.), having no ventilation holes in the windshield and rear window area, contributes to the condensation of moisture on the body surface, which, if exposed for a long time, can lead to damage to the body paint.
If the car is stored in an open parking lot under a cover in winter, the cover should not be adjacent to the painted surfaces of the body, so as not to damage the paint (blistering, peeling). For normal ventilation of painted surfaces, place soft pads at least 20 mm high between the cover and the body.
When preparing a vehicle for long-term storage:
- 1. Wash the car and wipe the body dry. Remove any corrosion. Touch up the damaged paint. Apply a preservative to the body.
- 2. Start and warm up the engine. Stop the engine, remove the spark plugs and pour 25-30 g of engine oil heated to 70-80°C into each cylinder, then turn the crankshaft 10-15 revolutions and screw in the spark plugs.
- 3. Disconnect the warm air intake hose from the air filter. Use oiled tape (paper or fabric) seal: the air intake openings of the air filter housing; outlet of the muffler exhaust pipe.
- 4. To protect against dust, cover the engine with tarpaulin, film or oiled paper.
- 5. Place the vehicle on stands so that the wheels are raised above the supporting surface.
- 6. Cover the car with a cover.
- 7. Fully charge the battery and store it in a cool, dry place.

Car maintenance during storage (once every two months) is as follows:
