Incomplete clutch disengagement (clutch «leads»)
Cause of malfunction | Elimination Method |
1. Increased gaps in the clutch release drive. | 1. Adjust the clutch release actuator. |
2. Warping of the driven disk (end runout more than 0.5 mm). | 2. Straighten the disc or replace with a new one. |
3. Irregularities on the surfaces of the friction linings of the driven disk. | 3. Replace pads or driven disc assembly. |
4. Jamming of rivets or breakage of the friction linings of the driven disk. | 4. Replace the pads, check the end runout of the disc. |
5. Jamming of the hub of the driven disk on the splines of the input shaft. | 5. Clean the splines, cover with grease LSTs-15 or Fiol-1, Fiol-2. If the splines are dented or worn to the point of seizing, replace the input shaft or driven disc. |
6. Breakage of the plates connecting the thrust flange with the clutch cover; | 6. Replace clutch cover with pressure plate assembly. |
7. Air in the clutch hydraulic system. | 7. Bleed the system. |
8. Leakage of fluid from the hydraulic drive system through connections or damaged pipelines. | 8. Tighten the connections, replace damaged parts, bleed the hydraulic drive system. |
9. Fluid leaking from master cylinder or clutch release cylinder. | 9. Replace O-rings, bleed the system. |
10. The hole in the reservoir cap was clogged, which caused a rarefaction and air leakage into the cylinder through the seals. | 10. Clean the holes in the reservoir cap, bleed the system. |
11. Violation of tightness due to contamination or wear of the front sealing ring of the master cylinder. | 11.Clean the O-ring, replace if worn. |
12. Skewed or warped pressure plate. | 12.3 Replace clutch cover with pressure plate assembly. |
Incomplete engagement of the clutch (clutch «slips»)
Cause of malfunction | Elimination Method |
1. There are no gaps in the clutch release actuator. | 1. Adjust the clutch release actuator. |
2. Increased wear or burning of the friction linings of the driven disk. | 2. Replace friction linings or driven disc assembly. |
3. Lubrication of the friction linings of the driven, disk, flywheel and pressure disk surfaces | 3.. Thoroughly rinse the surfaces with white spirit, eliminate the causes of oiling of the discs. |
4. Compensation hole of the main cylinder is clogged. | 4. Flush the cylinder and clean the compensation hole. |
5. Damage or jamming of the clutch release actuator. | 5. Troubleshoot causing the jam. |
Jerks during clutch operation
Cause of malfunction | Elimination Method |
1. Jamming of the hub of the driven disk on the splines of the input shaft. | 1. Clean the splines, cover with grease LSTs-15 or Fiol-1, Fiol-2. If the splines are dented so that it causes binding, replace the input shaft or driven disk. |
2. Lubrication of the friction linings of the driven disk, flywheel surfaces and pressure disk. | 2. Thoroughly flush oiled surfaces with mineral spirits and eliminate the cause of oiling of the DISCS. - |
3. Jamming in the clutch release drive mechanism. | 3. Replace the deformed parts, eliminate the causes of seizing. |
4. Increased wear of the friction linings of the driven disk. | 4. Replace the pads with new ones, check for damage to the disc surfaces. |
5. Loosening the rivets of the friction linings of the driven disk. | 5. Replace defective rivets and linings if necessary. |
6. Damage to the surface or warping of the pressure plate. | 6. Replace clutch cover with pressure plate assembly. |
Increased noise when disengaging the clutch
Cause of malfunction | Elimination Method |
1. Worn, damaged or leaking lubricant from the clutch release bearing. | 1. Replace bearing. |
2. Deterioration of the front bearing of the input shaft of the gearbox. | 2. Replace bearing. |
Increased noise when engaging the clutch
Cause of malfunction | Elimination Method |
1. Breakage or decrease in the elasticity of the damper springs. | 1. Replace driven disc assembly. |
2. Breakage, reduction of elasticity or jumping off of the release spring of the clutch fork. | 2. Replace the spring with a new one or fix it. |
3. Breakage of the plates connecting the pressure plate to the casing. | 3. Replace clutch cover with pressure plate assembly. |
