When removing or installing seals with metal frames, do not allow the frame to become crushed or corrugations to form on the seals.
The contact spot welding seams used to weld stamped body parts do not provide a tight connection. They are subject to intense corrosion, especially at the bends of sheets with small rounding radii and in places where the metal is overstressed.
The welded seams at the automobile plant are sealed with D-4 A plastisol to protect them from moisture and dirt.
When replacing individual body parts, after welding and applying primer, coat the welds on both sides with D-4A plastisol and apply non-drying mastic 51-G-7 (fig. 8-10, 8-11) in corner joints:
- floor thresholds with front shield (from the salon side);
- front panel with front pillar panel and battery tray;
- connections of the front side members with the radiator frame and the front shield;
- connections of the front shield with the front cover;
- rear floor and rear floor extensions with rear wheel arches, side panels and rear panel.

Places of application of sealing mastic 51-G-7 (front view of the body): 1 - connection of the front side member with the radiator frame; 2 - joints of the front side member with the front shield; 3 - connection of the battery tray with the front panel (from the salon side), 4 - joints connecting the front shield with the front trim (from under the hood)

Places of application of sealing mastic 51-G-7 (rear view of the body): 1 - joints of the rear floor with the rear wheel arch; 2 - gaps in the corner joints of the rear floor extensions with the rear wheel arches, with the sidewalls and the rear panel; 3 - corner joints of the front shield with the floor threshold; 4 - corner of the front shield with the front side pillar panel
