Electric motor Me-255 - direct current with excitation from permanent magnets. The scheme of switching on the electric motor is shown in fig. 7-36.

When an additional resistor 2 is included in the power supply circuit of the electric motor, the armature shaft rotates at a reduced frequency.
The resistor is secured with two spring washers in the heater fan housing. The resistance value of the resistor is 1.5 ohms at 20°C.
A defective motor is usually recommended to be replaced. The only possible repair is cleaning the collector.
To disassemble the electric motor, it is necessary to unscrew the screws securing the cover 6 (pic. 7-37) and take it off. Then remove the lock washer 1 from the armature shaft and remove the armature 4 from the housing.

Assembly is carried out in reverse order. Checking the technical condition is similar to that described above for the wiper motor.
