There should be no cracks, burnouts and delaminations on the edging of the holes.
Checking the tightness of the cylinder head
For a hydraulic leak test of the cylinder head cooling jacket:
- install on the cylinder head the parts included in the tool kit A.60324 (pic. 2-51);
- pump water inside the head at a pressure of 0.5 MPa (5 kgf/cm2).
Within two minutes, there should be no leakage of water from the head. If cracks are found, the cylinder head must be replaced.
You can check the tightness of the cylinder head with compressed air, for which:
- install on the cylinder head the parts included in the kit A.60334;
- lower the cylinder head into a water bath heated to 60-80°C and let the cylinder head warm up for 5 minutes;
- supply compressed air inside the cylinder head at a pressure of 0.15-0.2 MPa (1.5-2 kgf/cm2).
Within 1-1.5 minutes, air etching from the head should not be observed.
