2. Perform wet sanding of the surfaces to be painted with 55S 4-P sanding papers.
3. Sand hard-to-reach places by hand. Surfaces with a large thickness of the coating, as well as surfaces that do not have mechanical damage, sand to the epoxy primer of the factory color. Bodies that have undergone significant corrosion and previously painted with nitro enamel should be cleaned to metal.
4. Wash the body with water, blow with compressed air and dry.
5. Degrease the surfaces to be painted with white spirit or BR-1 gasoline thinner, apply and coat with D-4A plastisol the welds and joints of the replaced parts. Remove excess mastic with a rag moistened with white spirit.
6. Insulate non-paintable surfaces with thick paper and adhesive tape.
7. Apply primer GF-073 with a paint sprayer to areas of the surface cleaned to metal and allow an exposure of 7–10 minutes. The viscosity of the soil should be 22–24 seconds at a temperature of 20°C according to the VZ-4 viscometer. Dilute the soil with xylene.
8. Apply epoxy primer EF-083 on surfaces covered with GF-073 primer, as well as on replaced body parts with a paint sprayer and dry at a temperature of 90°C for 60 minutes.
9. Before applying primer EF-083, add NF-1 desiccant to it 5–7% by weight of the primer. The shelf life of the finished soil with a catalyst is 7 hours. The viscosity of the soil should be 23–25 seconds at a temperature of 20°C according to the VZ-4 viscometer. It can be diluted with RE-11V solvent or xylene.
10. Cool the body, carry out wet sanding with 55C 4-P sandpaper, wash with water, blow with compressed air and dry.
11. Putty, if necessary, uneven places with putty MS-OO-6 with a thickness of not more than 0.3 mm. Thin the thickened putty with xylene.
12. After filling, dry the body for 30 minutes at a temperature of 18-20°C.
13. Sand the puttied surfaces, wash the body, blow with compressed air and dry.
14. Isolate the non-paintable surfaces of the body with thick paper, adhesive tape and install it in the spray booth.
15. Degrease the surfaces to be painted with white spirit.
16. Open the doors, hood, trunk and apply with a paint sprayer two layers of ML-197 enamel, with an intermediate exposure of 7-10 minutes, on the interior surfaces of the passenger compartment, doorways, end surfaces of the doors, engine compartment, trunk to be painted.
17. Apply three layers of ML-197 enamel on the outer surfaces of the body with an intermediate exposure of 7–10 minutes.
18. Dry the coating at 90°C for 1 hour and refrigerate naturally.
19. Before using the enamel, add 4–5% DGU-70 catalyst or a 10% solution of maleic anhydride in ethyl acetate to it. The viscosity of the enamel should be 20–22 seconds at a temperature of 20°C according to the VZ-4 viscometer. Dilute the enamel with P-197 solvent, followed by filtration through a No. 014K mesh.
20. If it is necessary to remove the old complex coating, use the SP-7 remover. Apply it with a brush 2-3 times depending on the thickness of the old paint and primer. Coating softening time 30–40 min. Remove the softened coating with a brush or spatula.
21. Wipe the surface with mineral spirits to remove the remains of the wash, rinse abundantly with water and dry the body.
