- after raising the front of the car, remove the wheel;
- bending back the edges of the front brake protective cover, unscrew the brake shoe guide mounting bolts and remove the brake caliper from the brake disc, moving it to the side. Do not disconnect the brake hoses to prevent air from getting into the hydraulic drive system, and do not allow the caliper to hang on the hoses;
- using tool 67.7823.9514, remove the wheel hub cap, unscrew the adjusting nut and remove the bushing 21 (fig. 4-1);
- carefully, so as not to damage the seal 25, remove the hub 19 together with the brake disc;
- place a stand under the lower control arm4 of the suspension and lower the front of the car slightly to compress the spring 9;
- disconnect the lower ball joint 18 from the suspension arm;
- disconnect shock absorber 14 from lower arm 4 and the steering link lateral rod from steering knuckle arm 29;
- move the front wheel drive shaft all the way towards the front axle;
- by turning the steering knuckle 29 relative to the upper ball joint 41, remove the knuckle from the tailstock 23 of the universal joint housing;
- using handle 67.7853.9535 with washer 67.7853.9540, press out the inner bearing rings 27 with dismantling rings and seals 25 from the cavity of the steering knuckle. Press out the outer bearing rings using washer 67.7853.9534 and press them in using mandrel 67.7853.9536. Mark the bearing rings so that they can be put back in their original place during assembly;
- clean the old grease and wash the inner cavity of the steering knuckle, the outer and inner cavities of the hub, the tail of the constant velocity joint housing and the bearings with kerosene;
- place 40 g of fresh Litol-24 grease into the bearing separators, apply an even layer into the cavities of the steering knuckle between the bearings, lubricate the splines of the hinge housing tailstock;
- install the inner bearing rings, dismantling rings and press in the seals;
- place the steering knuckle onto the ball joint housing tailstock and connect the ball joint to the lower arm;
- secure the shock absorber and connect the steering link to the steering knuckle arm;
- install the hub with the brake disc assembly on the joint housing tailstock and install the conical bushing 21;
- tighten the new adjusting nut and adjust the clearances in the wheel hub bearings;
- use mandrel 67.7853.9528 to install the wheel hub cap;
- reinstall the brake caliper and wheel.
