Disconnect the wire from the terminal "–" battery.
Remove the gearbox (see subsection 11.1.1.), clutch (see subsection 11.2.1.) and flywheel (see subsection 10.7., operations 77–80).
Lubrication of the clutch discs can be caused by oil leaking either through the gearbox input shaft oil seal or through the crankshaft rear oil seal.
Engine and transmission oils have different smells. Therefore, having a certain skill, you can determine by smell which of the oil seals is defective.
If traces of oil leakage through the crankshaft oil seal are found, first check if the crankcase ventilation system is clogged and if its hoses are pinched, and repair if necessary.
If the leak does not stop after that, replace the seal.
1. Prying off the working edge with a screwdriver, remove the oil seal. Be careful - the oil seal can push into the engine.
2. Lubricate the lip of the new oil seal with engine oil. Install the oil seal with the sealing lip inside the cylinder block and carefully drive the sealing lip onto the crankshaft flange with a wooden stick.
3. Press the oil seal with a suitable mandrel flush with the surface a of the holder. It is allowed to sink the stuffing box relative to the surface of the holder by no more than 0.25 mm.
