After making sure that there is no axial movement of the worm in the bearings, use the puller A.47035 to press the pins of the ball joints out of the holes in the bipod and disconnect the rods from the bipod, while maintaining the straight position of the front wheels.
Shaking the bipod by the head, check if there is a gap in the engagement of the roller and the worm. Within the steering wheel rotation of 30°to each side of the neutral position, clearance, i.e. tangible free play of the bipod should not be.
If free play of the bipod is felt, loosen nut 3 (rice. 5-2) adjusting screw and, lifting the lock washer, tighten the adjusting screw 2 until the gap is eliminated. Do not overtighten the adjusting screw. Then, holding the adjusting screw with a screwdriver, tighten the nut 3.
After making sure that the bipod does not move, connect the fingers of the ball joints to it. Check steering wheel turning force. If it exceeds 196 N (20 kgf), 245 N* (25 kgf) *, loosen adjusting screw 2.
