The main nodes of the system: 1 - receiving pipe; 2 - additional muffler of the first stage (resonator); 3 - main muffler; 4 - exhaust pipe.
Periodically check the exhaust system. If there is an increased noise level from the exhaust system, check its tightness. If necessary, replace rusted and burnt parts.
Warnings:
- Allow the exhaust system to cool before repairing the exhaust system, as the exhaust system becomes very hot when the engine is running.
- Exhaust gases are poisonous and poisoning by them occurs imperceptibly, so be sure to open the gate before starting the engine in the garage!
Recommendation: If it is impossible to replace a defective unit with a new one, you can temporarily restore its performance by applying a metal patch to the damaged area and securing it with clamps or wire. It is recommended to place a sheet of asbestos under the patch.
Start the engine and inspect the entire system. Run your hand near potential leaks without touching the knots. You will immediately feel the gas leak.
Inspect the main muffler suspension rubber pads (second cushion on the other side of the muffler) And...
...exhaust hangers. Replace torn, cracked or loose cushions.
Inspect and, if necessary, replace damaged clamps.
In the engine compartment, check the places of possible gas leakage between the exhaust pipe and the block head (the second branch of the exhaust pipe is located on the other side of the engine intake pipe).
