- raise the rear of the car so that the wheels can rotate and release the lever to its lowest position;
- loosen locknut 5 (pic. 6-4) tensioning device and, turning the adjusting nut 6, tighten the cable so that the rear wheels are braked with a force at which it is impossible to turn the wheels by hand;
- when unscrewing the adjusting nut, set the lever travel along the sector to 4-5 teeth and tighten the nut.
Note. If the cables have been replaced with new ones, brake the brake lever two or three times by applying a force of approximately 392 N to the parking brake lever (40 kgf). In this case, the cables will be pulled out.
After a few brakings, make sure that the lever travel has not changed, and the wheels turn freely, without sticking when the lever is in the lower position.
