The fuel injection system in combination with a catalytic converter in the exhaust system allows to reduce the toxicity of exhaust gases while improving the driving performance of the car.
Removal and installation the engine
Before removing the engine, it is necessary to remove the pressure in the fuel supply system. To do this, disconnect the electric fuel pump wiring harness connector from the injection system wiring harness, start the engine, let it run until it stops, and then turn on the starter for 3 seconds to equalize the pressure in the pipelines.
Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery.
Remove the air filter by unscrewing the nuts securing it to the central injection unit and to the stud on the cylinder head cover and disconnecting the hoses from the filter. Disconnect the wires from the injector and close the neck of the central injection unit with a technological plug.
Disconnect the fuel supply and drain hoses from the pipes on the engine. Close the openings of the pipes and hoses to prevent dirt from getting in and fuel from leaking.
Disconnect the throttle cable from the central injection unit and from the bracket on the intake manifold.
Disconnect the vacuum hoses from the central injection unit that go to the adsorber and absolute pressure sensor, as well as the engine crankcase ventilation system hose.
Disconnect the wires from all injection system devices installed on the engine.
Further engine removal is carried out in the usual manner.
The engine is installed in the reverse order of removal. After installation, adjust the accelerator drive and check the operation of the injection system as specified in the Central Fuel Injection System Repair Manual.

Disassembly and assembly of the engine
Remove bracket 3 (Fig. 9-1) with ignition module 4, then plug 2 with gasket and retainer 1 with sealing ring.

Remove the fuel supply and drain pipes by disconnecting them from the central injection unit and from the bracket on the cylinder head cover.
Remove the central injection unit by unscrewing the mounting studs and remove the gasket from the surface of the intake pipe.
Remove the inlet pipe 2 (Fig. 9-2) with the heater 1. If necessary, on the workbench, disconnect the heater with the gasket and sealing ring from the inlet pipe.

Remove the crankshaft position sensor mounted on the camshaft drive cover.
Further disassembly of the engine is carried out in the usual order, as indicated in section 2.
The engine assembly is performed in the reverse order of disassembly. A single-use gasket is installed under the central injection unit, so always replace it with a new one during assembly.
