Attention! Performed when replacing the needle valve, float (see also Diagnostics of malfunctions of the engine and its systems).
Removing the carburetor cover (see Dismantling the carburetor on a car).
Laying the carburetor cover horizontally with the floats up, measure with a vernier caliper the distance from the cover gasket to the most distant point of each float. It should be within 34–35 mm for both floats.
The gap is adjusted by bending the tongue or the levers of the floats.
The bearing surface of the tongue must be perpendicular to the axis of the needle valve and must not have dents or notches.
When installing the cover in place, we check whether the floats touch the walls of the float chamber, if necessary, bend the levers of the floats.
