Clutch
A driven disk 21213 is installed in the clutch. This is due to the fact that more torque is transmitted through the clutch and, in order to reduce the load on the transmission from uneven engine operation and at the time of gear shifting, the characteristic of the damper springs has been changed, the shape of the steel disk itself has been changed and other friction linings have been applied..
Removal and installation, repair of clutch 21213 are carried out in the same way as for clutch 2121.
Transfer case
The transfer case of a VAZ-21219 car does not differ in its structure from the VAZ-2121, but has original protective covers for the transfer case control levers and a different gear ratio for the speedometer drive.
Cardan gear
The cardan drive of the VAZ-21219 car differs from the VAZ-2121 by an intermediate cardan shaft, the design of which allows you to transfer more torque and improves the centering of the transfer case and gearbox.
Instead of a universal joint with a cross on needle bearings, a constant-velocity joint is used, the design of which is similar to the design of the outer joint in the front wheel drive.
Removal and installation of an intermediate cardan shaft
Install clamp A. 70025 on flexible coupling 3 (pic. 9-16) and, turning the shaft, unscrew the nuts of the bolts securing the flexible coupling to the flange of the output shaft of the gearbox. Remove transfer case (see subsection «Transfer case» in section III) complete with an intermediate cardan shaft. Turn away nuts of fastenings of hinge of an intermediate shaft to a flange of a leading shaft of a distributing box and remove an intermediate shaft.

Installation of the intermediate shaft is carried out in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the following:
- before installing the intermediate shaft assembly with the transfer case, put 2-3 g of SHRUS-4 grease on the inner surface of flange 5;
- when installing the intermediate cardan shaft, ensure the alignment of the shafts of the gearbox and transfer case (see subsection «Transfer box installation»).
Disassembly and assembly of the intermediate cardan shaft
Disconnect the flexible coupling from the flange 5 (see fig. 9-16), noting the number and location of balancing washers 17 and the coupling itself relative to the flange, in order to install them in their original places during assembly.
In case of damage to the protective cover 6 or casing 14, when it is necessary to check the condition of the hinge parts and the quality of lubrication, noting the position of the hinge relative to the flange of the elastic coupling, disassemble the hinge using the techniques described in subsection «Front wheel drive».
When assembling the hinge, use the techniques described in subsection «Front wheel drive». When assembling into the hinge, use Longtern-00 grease from «Dow coming» in the amount of 20 cm3.
Front wheel drive
In the drive of the front wheels of the VAZ-21219, original oil seals of the internal hinges of the wheel drive are used. When installing new oil seals, it is necessary to determine their location (right left) in the direction of rotation of the drives, which is shown on the stuffing boxes by arrows.
Rear axle
A gearbox with a gear ratio of 3.9 is installed on a VAZ-21219 car. To distinguish the gearbox is marked with a number «13» on the flat surface of the crankcase neck.
Front axle
A gearbox with a gear ratio of 3.9 is installed on a VAZ-21219 car. To distinguish the gearbox is marked with a number «6» on the flat surface of the crankcase neck.
