Three wires from the SUD harness are connected through a separate block to the low-voltage input of the tachometer in the instrument cluster, with a warning lamp «CHECK ENGINE» and with plug «15» ignition switch.
There are four fuses in the ECU wiring harness. They are installed in a separate fuse box 26, located under the left front upholstery cover. The purpose of these fuses is shown in Table 9-2.
Table 9-2. Assignment of the injection system fuses
Fuse | Protected circuits |
1-2 | Electric fuel pump relay (contacts). Electric fuel pump. |
3-4 | Controller. |
5-6 | Main relay (contacts). oxygen sensor. Speed sensor. Canister purge solenoid valve. Electric fuel pump relay (winding). Electric fans relay (winding). Controller. Mass air flow sensor. Nozzle harness. |
7-8 | Electric fans relay (contacts). Electric fans. |
In addition to fuses, there is also «fusible link» at the end of the red wire connected to the battery. This «fusible link» made in the form of a piece of black wire with a cross section of 1 mm2, while the main red wire has a cross section of 6 mm2.
Cooling fan motors
To drive the fans of the engine cooling system, two DC electric motors with excitation from permanent magnets of the MP 8015 type are used.
The electric motors are switched on by the engine management system controller via a relay. When the engine is running, the relay turns on if the coolant temperature exceeds 105°C, and turns off after the coolant temperature drops below 101°C.
Electric motors are maintenance-free and should be replaced with new ones in case of failure.
Data for checking the electric motor:
- Rated shaft speed when the motor is loaded with an impeller, min-1 — 2000-2200
- Consumed current at the specified load and speed, A, no more than — 15
