Disarming the immobilizer
The immobilizer in armed mode blocks the engine start. In this mode, the immobilizer status LED flashes at a frequency of 1 time per 2.5 s. To disarm the immobilizer, you must first enter the mode «Reading». Mode «Reading» lasts 1.5 minutes and is activated when the door is opened or closed, as well as when the ignition is turned on and off. Moreover, from the moment the ignition is turned off, the duration of the mode «Reading» is only 10 s. In mode «Reading» The LED flashes at a frequency of 2 times in 1 s.
In mode «Reading» bring to status indicator 2 «Mine» working code key 3 and wait for the LED to turn off. When the key code is read, the LED lights up briefly with constant light, and the buzzer emits a double beep. Turning off the LED provides the opportunity to start the engine. If, when disarming, the ignition key was in the «Ignition», then to start the engine, it must first be transferred to the position «Turned off» and only then turn on the starter.
In the event of a malfunction in the system, the LED after turning on the ignition for 20 seconds displays the following abnormal situations:
- if the LED flashes once every two seconds during this time, this means that the controller did not give permission to start the engine. The reason for this may be a malfunction of the immobilizer, controller or communication failure between them.
- if the LED at this time flashes 5 times in 1 s, then this means that the immobilizer has detected an internal error. The error is cleared using a tester or by removing the terminal from the battery. If the error repeats, then it is necessary to contact the PTO, even if the engine starts at the same time.
- if the LED at this time is on with a constant light, this means that the engine starts without disarming the immobilizer. This occurs if the controller has not activated the anti-theft system. To activate the anti-theft system, follow the procedure «Exiting maintenance mode and learning working keys».
Setting the immobilizer to guard
The immobilizer is armed automatically after the ignition is turned off, but the setting time also depends on the situation and the driver's actions.
If the car doors were not opened, the immobilizer will arm 5 minutes after the ignition is turned off. If the door was opened, then arming occurs 30 seconds after the door is closed. Regardless of the setting time, 15 seconds before the immobilizer is armed, the buzzer starts beeping with increasing frequency, warning the driver about this event. In this case, the LED lights up with a flickering light.
Maintenance mode
The immobilizer allows you to switch to maintenance mode. Entering and exiting the maintenance mode is done using the red code key. In maintenance mode, the immobilizer status LED is on all the time while the ignition key is in the «Ignition».
To activate maintenance mode, the following procedure must be followed exactly:
1. Set the immobilizer to «Reading» by turning the key in the ignition switch to position «Ignition».
2. Bring «Mine» learning key to the status indicator and while holding it, turn off the ignition. After the LED lights up and the buzzer gives a short beep, remove the code key from the status indicator.
Approximately 3-5 seconds after the ignition is turned off, the LED will flash at a frequency of 10 times per 1 second, interrupted every second. If the immobilizer detects any error, then the LED does not flash at the specified frequency. In this case, the procedure must be restarted.
3. Bring the learning key to the status indicator again. In this case, the LED will switch to the constant glow mode and the buzzer will give a single sound signal. After that, take the code key.
4. Not later than 10 s after the LED lights up with constant light for 1 s, turn on the ignition. If the exchange with the controller was successful, then after 1-5 s the LED goes out, the buzzer gives a short beep and the immobilizer enters the maintenance mode.
If any step of this procedure is performed incorrectly or the waiting time is exceeded, the immobilizer will return to normal mode. With such an erroneous output, the LED will flash for 2 s at a frequency of 2 times in 1 s.
If the immobilizer is in maintenance mode, then the mode «Reading» is interrupted and the LED lights up permanently. In mode «Reading» immobilizer perceives only «Mine» red key, allowing you to perform the procedures for learning working code keys and exiting the maintenance mode.
Exiting maintenance mode and learning working keys
When switching to the maintenance mode, the working key codes are erased from the immobilizer memory. Therefore, when exiting the maintenance mode, it is necessary to teach the immobilizer all the keys that will be used when operating the car. The immobilizer is able to perceive the codes of two working keys.
To learn working keys and exit the maintenance mode, you must perform the following procedure:
1. With the ignition on, bring to the status indicator «Mine» learning code key and, while holding it, turn off the ignition. The LED will remain lit.
2. After the buzzer gives a short beep, remove the code key from the status indicator. Approximately 3-5 s after the ignition is turned off, the LED will flash at a frequency of 10 times per 1 s, signaling the inclusion of the mode «Education».
3. Within 10 seconds, start learning working code keys. To do this, bring them one by one to the status indicator and wait for the buzzer to sound a short beep. After learning the first key, the learning mode is extended for another 10 s, allowing you to learn the next code key. If the learning key is not presented within 10 seconds, the immobilizer will exit the learning mode, remaining in the maintenance mode.
4. After learning the working keys, the immobilizer remains in the mode for 10 s «Education», allowing you to end this mode by changing the learning key code. To do this, bring the red code key to the status indicator and hold it until the buzzer beeps. After writing the code to the red key, the LED is on for another 10 seconds.
5. During these 10 seconds, while the LED is on, it is necessary to turn the ignition on and off. If the communication session between the controller and the immobilizer was successful, the LED goes out, the buzzer emits a short beep, and the immobilizer exits the learning mode and the maintenance mode.
If any step of this procedure is performed incorrectly or the waiting time is exceeded, the immobilizer returns to the maintenance mode and the described procedure will need to be performed again. An indication of such an erroneous output is the blinking mode of the LED for 2 s at a frequency of 2 times in 1 s.
If the procedure was completed, but no keys were learned during it, then the immobilizer will exit the maintenance mode, but it will not be possible to disarm it due to the lack of trained keys. In this case, it is necessary to enter the maintenance mode again and, upon exiting it, learn the code keys.
At the end of the learning procedure, it may be necessary to coordinate the codes of the immobilizer and the engine control controller. To carry it out, it is necessary to disarm the immobilizer and turn off the ignition for more than 15 seconds and then turn on the ignition again. If, when the ignition is switched on, the LED flashes at a frequency of once per second for more than 5 s, then it is necessary to repeat the matching procedure. When the ignition is turned on again, the LED goes out and the immobilizer makes it possible to start the engine.
