Attention! We carry out work on a lift or a viewing ditch.
Disconnect the propeller shaft from the front axle gearbox (see Removing the cardan shaft).
We remove the housings of the internal hinges of the front wheel drives from engagement with the gears of the drives of the front axle reducer (see Removing the front axle gearbox).
Using a dynamometer, we turn the drive gear clockwise by the flange fastening nut and determine the moment of its resistance to rotation (similar to the operation given in section Replacement of an epiploon of a leading gear wheel of the main transfer).
We insert bolts into two adjacent holes of the flange and screw nuts on them.
head «at 24» unscrew the flange nut, holding it from turning with a mounting blade.
We take the puck.
Remove the flange from the shank of the drive gear.
In case of difficulty, we compress it with a puller.
Pry off the seal with a screwdriver..
...and take it out.
Having lubricated the working surface of the new oil seal with Litol-24 grease, we press it in with a suitable piece of pipe, install the flange and tighten the flange fastening nut, checking the moment of resistance to rotation of the drive gear (similar to the operations given in section Replacement of an epiploon of a leading gear wheel of the main transfer).
Further assembly is carried out in the reverse order of disassembly.
