We remove the carburetor (see Removing the carburetor from the engine) and recirculation valve (see Removal of components of the exhaust gas recirculation system).
After loosening the fastening clamp, remove the corrugated hose from the heated air intake pipe.
Loosen the brake booster hose clamp with pliers...
... and remove the hose from the intake pipe.
Loosen the clamp...
... disconnect the coolant outlet hose from the intake pipe.
head «at 13» unscrew the nut securing the front eye of the engine...
...and remove the eye.
head «at 13» unscrew the nut of the lower fastening of the heated air intake...
...and the top nut.
Remove the heated air intake.
ring wrench «at 13» unscrew the two extreme nuts securing the intake pipe (one on each side) to the cylinder head.
head «at 13» with an extension, unscrew the three nuts of the middle fastening of the intake pipe.
Remove the intake pipe from the cylinder head studs.
For dismantling the pipe of the exhaust gas recirculation system...
...hex «by 5» unscrew the two screws securing the tube flange to the intake pipe.
Remove the recirculation tube.
The connection is sealed with a gasket.
Before removing the exhaust manifold, disconnect the exhaust pipe from it (see Removing the downpipe).
The operations for dismantling the exhaust manifold and gaskets are similar to those for an injection engine (see Replacing the gasket of the intake pipe and exhaust manifold of the injection engine).
Only on a carburetor engine, unlike an injection engine, there is no middle exhaust manifold mounting nut, and the sealing gasket consists of two parts.
Before installation, we clean the mating surfaces of the cylinder head, intake pipe and exhaust manifold from the remnants of old gaskets and soot.
Before installing new gaskets, we apply a thin layer of sealant to them in the area of the coolant outlets from the cylinder head.
Lubricate the cylinder head studs with graphite grease.
